Exploring Inflatables with Mylar

For this project, I wanted to explore different types of ways and study the characteristics of the material and techniques. I created some designs in Illustrator and laser cut two layers of Mylar with those designs, the laser cut gave me sharp edges and helped me keep Mylar layers together and in place.

After cutting them, I used a small plate to manually seal the edges using a metal ruler as a guide to maintain a clean seal line.

I got astonishing results when I inflated the forms, as you can see in the video I got impressive movements that I plan to explore later.
